Sidney Cardoso Sr. has been identified by police as the Silver Spring man who was killed after being hit by a woman as he was crossing New Hampshire Avenue near Bonifant Road.
The incident was reportedly shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5 in Colesville.
Officers were called to the scene, and it was determined that Cardoso was in the roadway for unknown reasons when he was struck. He was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
The driver remained at the scene to assist with the investigation after the fatal strike, police noted.
